Yes what you have read is true. This infact was told by the star director SS. Rajamouli himself. In a recent interview given to TV9 after the release of Bahubali, interviewer asked Rajamouli an interesting question that many people are dying to ask. He asked him that there is a talk about many people getting disappointed with the ending of the movie. People have thought that the movie ended suddenly when Kattappa kills Bahubali. Rajamouli gave an interesting answer to this.
He said that the scene where Katappa kills Bahubali felt really poetic to him. He really wanted the scene at the end of the movie so that audience can also feel the emotion he felt and his intention was not to use that scene as a bait to bring the people to the second part. But he said the opposite has happened initially.He told that he was in a great shock and really disappointed when he came to know the audience initial reaction. He said that later everything seemed to work out and because of that scene people are again and again coming to theatres. He said he was glad as the scene worked out like a magic at the end as he initially thought.
Definitely that scene made us waiting for the second part. Hope the second part releases soon.....
